For W5188 Participants: Optional Field Trip - Half Day prior to USDA W5188 Annual Meeting 2027

For Participants of the annual USDA Multistate Hatch W5188 Business Meeting (see separate event with same logo)

We are offering an optional half-day field trip to two research sites in the Davis area:

• Agrivoltaics Research Site at UC Davis: Visit the agrivoltaics research site on the west side of campus, led by Dr. Majdi Abou Najm, to learn about ongoing research integrating solar energy production with agricultural systems.
• Vadose Zone Monitoring System near Esparto, CA: Visit a field installation of the Vadose Zone Monitoring System (VMS) developed by Dr. Ofer Dahan, at a research site led by Dr. Isaya Kisekka. The visit will highlight approaches for monitoring water movement and solute transport through the vadose zone.

Wednesday Afternoon, January 6, 2027 (likely starting at 1pm)

Note: The registration for the field trip is separate and independent of the registration for the W5188 Annual Meeting. The field trip cost of $25 per person will cover transportation and a snack. There is no student discount.
